Walthew House

We are a long-standing, Stockport-based charity supporting people of all ages who are blind, partially sighted, deaf, or hard of hearing. We offer practical services such as equipment advice, social groups, befriending, interpreting and communication support, and confidence-building activities. We also run training and drop-in sessions to help people navigate daily life, access benefits, and stay connected, reducing isolation and improving wellbeing.

We rely on donations and grant funding to keep our services free or low-cost, but demand continues to grow. Lottery income provides a steady, predictable stream of funding that helps us plan ahead, retain skilled staff, and keep vital programmes running throughout the year. Unlike one-off appeals, lottery proceeds give us the financial stability to meet ongoing needs and respond quickly when individuals require urgent support.
